Rome Chemical Incident Live Medical Demo 03/10/2016

On 28 & 29 September 2016, in Rome (Italy) EDEN project organized the “Rome Chemical Incident Live Medical Demo”. The demonstration was led by UCSC, one of the EDEN Partners, and its main focus was on medical management of CWA (chemical warfare agents) release in an Emergency Department  (at UCSC/Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli). Medical emergency experts from the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Norway, Israel and Czech Rep. and consortium members took part in the event.

The following tools were used during the demonstration scenario

  • Situation overview and Preparedness: CRISTAL (BAES), HAZMAT REPOSITORY (UCSC), EDEN live and one time message (AIRBUS)
  • Protection: IF React suits (NBC Sys and Blüscher), PhaseCore Cooling Vest (First Line Technology)
  • SAR and Decontamination: NORIA (AIRBUS), CBRN PRIOR (DGKM e.V)

On the first day of the demonstration the medical scenario was played with the use of the EDEN Tools and on the second day without.
